Network Purpose-Built for Security and Performance
The OPAQ Cloud is not only differentiated by its tight integration of cost-effective enterprise-grade security capabilities, but also its fully encrypted SD-WAN that is entrusted to deliver security protection with unrivaled flexibility and network acceleration.
OPAQ operates its own global IP backbone (AS25885) with network pods at the world’s top carrier hotels, and works with the world’s largest IP transit providers. We utilize the most network-dense data centers in the world, providing multiple options for interconnection, network resiliency and low-latency connectivity to customers.
Traffic going between OPAQ pods utilizes our dedicated backbone circuits, which are maintained by OPAQ engineers. By avoiding the public Internet, OPAQ reduces pod-to-pod latency while increasing reliability.
In-house physical security is on site 24x7x365 in addition to key card access, IP-DVR cameras, biometric scanners, mantrap entries and controlled data center access.
Carrier hotels boast a 100% uptime SLA supported by N+1, 2N UPS and N+1 generator power.
When you work with the world’s top datacenter providers, you get the certifications and compliance that come along with it, including:
SOC 1 Type II
SOC 2 Type II
The Fastest Network Performance
OPAQ blends multiple high-performance transit providers with more than 150 private peering relationships that OPAQ has established with major providers such as Google, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Akamai, and many others. Why is this significant?
More than 60% of traffic on the OPAQ network never even touches the Internet — traffic takes the fastest route possible by going directly to its intended destination. These relationships require a commitment to maintain a favorable traffic ratio between each peer.
OPAQ’s routing policy dynamically leverages the best Internet paths available, and makes more than 2 million route changes daily. This allows OPAQ to reduce the standard Internet latency by as much as 35 milliseconds per packet round-trip-time on average. Every OPAQ pod routing policy is operated independently, allowing customers to achieve a highly available connection to the OPAQ Cloud. When a customer connects to multiple OPAQ pods, OPAQ provides a high-availability option with faster failover times.
